Its a "forever" (永久） brand bicycle. It comes fully equipped with 2 locks and 1 basket. The basket even has a Opel/ Olympic logo in the front. I would have opt for a Hello Kitty logo but it would have cost me another 10 RMB (joking lar!) This sweet pair of wheels cost me 350RMB and I hope no one steals it... (I have heard many stories of stolen bicycles or bicycles that became unicycles (after 1 wheel got stolen).

I bought the bicycle with my classmates. This dialogue ensued. I am refering to my classmate as BC (Blur Classmate) to save him from certain embarassment and the sales person as Ah Beng (cos he looked like one).
Ah Beng: 这个牌子好！是永久的! (This brand is good! It's forever!)
BC: 我们不需要永久的，我们只住一年啊！(I don't need one that lasts forever! I am staying here for 1 year only.)
Ah Beng: ...
Ah Teck (that's me): (Muttering) He is talking about the brand of the bike lar!
BC:...
It takes me about an hour to cycle from school to home. I know because I just did that this evening. It's a little scary because the bicycle lane is shared by buses and cars stopping, battery powered bicycles as well as motorbikes and pedestrains... makes me wonder why they call it a bicycle lane anyway. But I much prefer my new found freedom than squeezing on the bus or MRT. Don't worry, guys! I will be extra vigilant on the road.
